2/04/11 – 9/18/11 WINGS OF GOLD: CORONADO AND NAVAL AVIATION, at the Coronado Museum of History and Art, as part of the national celebration of 100 years of Naval Aviation. Explores Naval Aviation’s origins 100 years ago on a sandy, scrub-covered island in San Diego Bay, which forever changed military history. Includes rare photographs, artifacts including an early pilot license signed by Orville Wright, and video about the heroes and pioneering events that transpired on the Crown Isle.
