All About lil o' Me

My photo
Just call me your Budget Barista. I have been married for 20 years to the best man on this planet. He's sweet, caring, kind, but most of all he makes me laugh. We have Three adorable kids. A beautiful sweet pea girl, A 'superman' boy, and a love bug baby girl. We just love that we live where people vacation...where the ocean meets the sky. We live a wonderful life. I love my life and I thank Christ for giving it to me. Some random things about me are I enjoy baking, quilting, paper crafting, jewelry making, scrapbooking, and loving on my family. I am a Princess in the Kingdom of the King of Kings, diet coke drinking baby kisser. We are a homeschooling family but are part of a hybrid program where the children attend a 'classroom' 2 days a week and we do the rest at home. It's a blast. We also love to vacation and explore God's world around us. I think that's enough for now. :-)

Pacific Marine Mammal Center is FREE is Laguna canyon.

If you like Sea animals or you know someone who does, check out the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Canyon, which rescues, cares, and helps seals, sea lions and other mammals that are found sick or injured until they can be returned to their natural habitat.
To visit the center is FREE, but you might be inspired to give a donation after you see the work they do.
They don’t have formal tours (or at least they aren't on their website), but visitors are welcome to look around, though they ask you not to interact with the animals, to avoid making them tame.
For the same reason, center volunteers don’t name the animals and try to handle them as little as possible, so they’ll still be wild when they are released.

Free Sunday sketching at the Getty

Isn't it hard to imagine any place in the Los Angeles Basin more associated with fine art than the world-famous Getty Center?, the world’s richest museum that cost $1 billion to build.
It’s an interesting place to visit any time, but if you are interested in sketching (like my daughter is), then you might want to come during their special drawing hours.
The Getty Drawing Hour is a free program on the first and third Sundays of the month in 2011 that gives you the chance to spend two hours sketching in front of world renowned masterpieces, with free help and lessons from a professional artist. (Parking is $15)
This would be fun for anyone who likes art, I think, and really great for artists or home schoolers.
The drawing event runs from 3:30-5:30 p.m. You need to sign up in advance, starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Museum Information Desk.  They have free materials, or bring your own stuff. Call (310) 440-7330 for more information
Here’s a blog description of how Getty Drawing Hour works
