All About lil o' Me

My photo
Just call me your Budget Barista. I have been married for 20 years to the best man on this planet. He's sweet, caring, kind, but most of all he makes me laugh. We have Three adorable kids. A beautiful sweet pea girl, A 'superman' boy, and a love bug baby girl. We just love that we live where people vacation...where the ocean meets the sky. We live a wonderful life. I love my life and I thank Christ for giving it to me. Some random things about me are I enjoy baking, quilting, paper crafting, jewelry making, scrapbooking, and loving on my family. I am a Princess in the Kingdom of the King of Kings, diet coke drinking baby kisser. We are a homeschooling family but are part of a hybrid program where the children attend a 'classroom' 2 days a week and we do the rest at home. It's a blast. We also love to vacation and explore God's world around us. I think that's enough for now. :-)

Save a BUNCH on state parks fees!!

If you visit or live near state beaches and parks, it hasn’t escaped your attention that the fees have gone up into outer space!  Let’s face it, our state is dying on the vine and trying to get money any way it can.  If you are like my family an annual pass isn't used during the winter at all. So this is a great way to get in some summer time fun for a fraction of the price. I found a way we can save a bunch amount of money, and support the parks at the same time!
If you buy a membership to the California State Parks Foundation, they’ll send you free passes you can use for parking or entrance fees.

They’re even offering a special “sampler” deal right now for $25 where you can join and get seven coupons good for day use at any park in California.

Really, depending on the entrance fee for the park in question, that could save you a boat load!
For example, parking at Crystal Cove and Doheny beaches right now has been hiked to $15, so seven day use passes would be worth $105. Minus the $25 to join, altogether we would save $80! Call some friends and carpool and everyone wins!     Click here to go to the most recent list of state parks day-use fees, published August 2009
And, in addition to getting a good deal, you’re supporting a group that lobbies on behalf of the state parks and their users.   Note: These passes can only be used for fees at STATE beaches and parks, NOT for CITY beaches like Seal Beach and Huntington Beach.
